Panic Relief, Inc.

Panic Relief, Inc. is a non-profit educational corporation and was founded in 1994 for the purpose of educating individuals on various ways to manage and control panic attacks, anxiety, & agoraphobia. We provide education in settings such as community adult education schools and libraries. Our organization's philosophy and techniques have helped participants manage and control their anxiety and fears, gain self-confidence and live their lives to the fullest.

Panic Relief, Inc. celebrates a 14 year history. Launched on May 11th, 1994, Panic Relief has helped hundreds of people in New Jersey, and now across the country, by teaching those with panic and anxiety our innovative and creative methods. It was was founded by Judy Schiffman, for the purpose of educating individuals on various ways to manage and control panic attacks, anxiety, and agoraphobia.

Our organization's program consultants each possess outstanding credentials, capabilities, and skills. The majority of them possess degrees in psychology or social work. Each program consultant must complete a training program consisting of an initial 50 hours of coursework, lectures, and observations, followed by additional training each month. All training sessions are prepared and presented by Ms. Schiffman.


Judy Schiffman

Ms. Schiffman has 17 years of experience developing programs, teaching, training, and managing personnel. She has educated hundreds of individuals regarding panic disorders. Ms. Schiffman’s ability to work in concert with other facilities, individuals, and professionals is both reassuring and successful.


Brian Keating

Brian Keating is a stress management consultant with a background in education and a commitment to making a difference for people.  He has been participating in training and development programs and supervising leadership programs for several years, which has formed his philosophy and outlook on life.  He has over two years of extensive training leading Panic Relief's programs as well as personal mentoring and collaborating with the director, Ms. Schiffman.


Sheila K. Dempsey

Ms. Dempsey is a Professional Organizing Consultant and the owner of her own business, Organized Practice Management. Since graduating from Rutgers with a degree in Psychology, she has accumulated 30 years experience in business, professional coaching, and organizing. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers. Ms. Dempsey is a workshop facilitator at Pathways Counseling Center in Pompton Lakes, NJ and believes that the clearing of clutter and confusion from one's life is an important step in reducing anxiety.


Diane Lang

Ms. Lang published her first book last year: Baby Steps: The Path from Motherhood to Career, which helps new mothers to re-enter the workforce. She is also therapist at the Universal Institute in Livingston, NJ. Her six-year-old daughter thinks she’s an expert at balancing motherhood and her career.

Josh Seery

Mr. Seery is currently working towards his MA in psychology while working as a associate teacher in a preschool. He was recently trained by our director and is one of the participants in the Instructional CDs.

Felice Homer

Ms. Homer is a psychotherapist in private practice in Ocean, New Jersey. She is on the Board of Directors of the Mental Health of Monmouth County and has been teaching workshops for Panic Relief for the past 7 years.

Ellen Birch

Ms. Birch, our Office Manager, is a mother of a sixteen-year-old artist, and also does scrapbooking and needlepoint on the weekends.

Don Slepian
Don Slepian

Mr. Slepian is our webmaster, technical advisor, and one of our original founders. He is a musician who composes peaceful instrumental keyboard music you can hear here.
